1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Plantask also uses localStorage and IndexedDB, which are similar technologies but store data locally without sending it to a server.
2. Cookies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| plantask:v1 | localStorage | Your tasks, sessions, plant progress | Persistent |
| plantask:cookie-consent | localStorage | Stores your consent choice | Persistent |
| __gads / __gpi | Third-party (Google) | Ad delivery & frequency capping | Up to 13 months |
| IDE / DSID | Third-party (Google) | Personalized advertising | Up to 13 months |
3. Essential vs. non-essential
The plantask:* entries are essential for the app to function. Google advertising cookies are non-essential and only loaded after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner.
4. Managing cookies
You can:
- Click Reject in our cookie banner to disable advertising cookies.
- Clear all local data anytime via your browser settings.
- Opt out of personalized Google ads at Google Ads Settings.
- Use Your Online Choices (EU) or About Ads (US).
5. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
